What if AI wasn’t just about models — but about people?
When I first heard about the AI+X Global Talent Community (GTC), I was sitting in a research lab in Tokyo, deep into my master’s studies on AI and local LLMs (lightweight, privacy-focused language models). Between debugging code and flipping through academic papers, the idea of a student-led, global initiative that brought together AI and every other field — from urban planning to fashion — felt like exactly what I didn’t know I needed.
What stood out about GTC was its focus on collaboration across disciplines. It wasn't just about algorithms; it was about connecting students like me with peers from medicine, law, design, and education — all asking the same big question: how can we use AI to make real-world impact?
So I applied. Not just to be part of another extracurricular, but to help shape a new kind of global community — one that values student voice, experimentation, and authentic collaboration.
What I Hope to Gain
I joined GTC to meet the kind of people I don’t usually cross paths with in computer science lectures — creative thinkers, builders, and dreamers from across disciplines and countries. I’m especially interested in how companies apply AI to areas like media, mobility, and healthcare, and I hope to collaborate with mentors and startups through the GTC network.
How I Hope to Contribute
Right now, I’m working with other members to host our first in-person networking event in Tokyo. It’s my first time organizing something like this — from coordinating venues to navigating logistics and making sure everyone feels welcome — and honestly, it’s both exciting and a little nerve-wracking. But it’s also meaningful: creating space for GTC members to meet face-to-face, share ideas, and build real connections.
As a content creator, I’m also planning to produce video highlights from our events — short, engaging clips that show what this community really looks like in action. From behind-the-scenes moments to interviews and idea exchanges, I want to help tell the story of how students are shaping AI across the globe. Sometimes, showing how we collaborate can be just as powerful as the outcomes.
A Final Thought
Being a GTC founding member isn’t about having all the answers. It’s about being willing to ask better questions — with a team that’s just as curious as you are.
To all students out there exploring the wild intersections of AI and the world — I hope you’ll join us, build with us, and let your voice be heard.
If you're curious about AI+X or want to collaborate — reach out. We’re just getting started.
Let’s make something real — together.
